Worship by those who neglect the poor is offensive to God!
"I hate, I despise your religious festivals;
your assemblies are a stench to me…
Away with the noise of your songs!
I will not listen to the music of your harps.
But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness

WARNING! Political Commentary! I am very opinionated! I strongly disagree with the Republican Tea Party! I believe that their actions are in oposition to God's Word! For me, the Republican Party is a party of HATE, Lies, discrimination, and bigotry! And the so called "Religious Right" are the "Religious Wrong" that they do not have any attributes of God's love; that they are "False Prohets" (False Profits!)
They claim to know God,
but their actions,
they deny them.
“Watch out for false prophets.
They come to you in sheep’s clothing,
but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.”
You may ask, “Why do you have ‘politics’ on a website about Jesus Christ, God, and the Bible? Well, here’s the answer:
As Christians we are to fight injustice wherever we find it; we may find it in our work places, schools, and even in our churches, and we may find Injustice in our politics by political parties. These political parties influence millions of people and injustice by political parties have far reaching consequenses on millions of Americans. Especially the poor, the sick, the hungry, the elderly, minorities, people of other nationalities and of different religions.
My intent is NOT to demonize people who have voted for the Republican ticket.I believe that most of these people are good people that have fallen asleep to the injustice and bigorty of the Republican Party and need to be awakened from their sleep of denial.
My goal is to JOLT these people into taking a (renewed) close-look at their Republican Party! Many of these people have drifted… their political affiliation now takes presadence over their Christian values!
· Cheer for Americans to die because they do not have health care.
· Boo and jeer returning soldiers from active duty because they are Gay.
· Cheer for Gov. Rick Perry for Texas having the most lethal executions in America.
"...they were not ashamed of their sin,
and they were even at the point
where they were calling evil good and good evil."
Isaiah 5:20 Adapted
Republicans now call ‘evil’ ‘good’ and ‘good’ ‘evil’.
· They now call “Torture” ‘Good!’ Torture used to be a War Crime!
· Republicans now call Christian attributes of caring for the poor, the sick, the hungry, the elderly, those marginalized by society, and the most vulnerable in our society… 'the least of these' (Matthew 25:40) that caring for these people Republicans now call Socialism, Communism, and Nazism!
The Republican Party Embraces and Proliferates LIES:
· Republican DENY that President Obama is a U.S. citizen!
· Republicans refuse facts that Obama was born in Hawii.
· President Obama gave his Long-Birth Certificate to Donald Trump on the eve of United States forces killing Osama bin Laden.
· Republicans LIE when they say President Obama was born in Kenya.
· Republicans DENY that President Obama IS a Christian.
· Republicans LIE that President Obama is a Muslim.
· Republicans made up LIES about "Death Panels" & "Kill Grandma" during Health Care debate.
· Republicans LIED calling President Obama a socialist, communist, nazi, and even a racist.
· Republicans are a Party of LIES & Deceipt!
· Republicans DENY the TRUTH!
· Republicans DENY Science!
· Republicans would rather embrace LIES instead of recognizing their own prejudice and bigorty!
The Rich and Powerful (Republicans)
believe their wealth and status
qualifies them to sit in judgement of the poor
rather than to assist them.
"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness." ~John Kenneth Galbraith (1908-2006)
What are we called to do?
...And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak
and not to please ourselves.
Each of us should please his neighbor for his good,
to build him up.
If anyone has material possessions
and sees his brother in need
but has no pity on him,
how can the love of God be in him?
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue
but with actions and in truth.
1 John 3:17-18
Do not say to your neighbor,
"Come back later; I'll give it tomorrow"—
when you now have it with you.
'I tell you the truth,
whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers of mine,
you did for me.'
The Greatest Commandment given to us by Jesus Christ is: The entire law is summed up
in a single command:
"Love your neighbor as yourself.”
How do we love God? By loving and serving God’s people! To reach out to the marginalized and the most vulnerable people in our society; not to judge them and condemn them.
To love God is to love our neighbors,
and to work to make their lives better.
To love God is to love the world God created,
and to work to perfect it.
To love God is to love dreams of peace that illuminate us all,
and to bring that vision to life.
To love God is to gather ALL neighbors
into the joy of a faithful community.
The Religious WRONG!
The Heart of Christianity
By Marcus J. Borg
This is just a small section from the Heart of Christianity by Marcus J. Borg. This is a very revealing book!
So different are these two views of Christianity that they almost produce two different religions, both using the same Bible and language. Our time of two paradigms is virtually a tale of two Christianities. To summarize the differences:
The two ways of being a Christian are often suspicious of, even hostile toward each other. From the earliest paradigm’s point of view, the emerging paradigm looks like a reduction of Christianity, a subtraction. Letting go of the notion that the Bible is a divine product seems to call its authority into question. Being relatively indifferent to whether the virgin birth and empty tomb are historical facts seems to call the divinity of Jesus and the wonder-working power of God into question. Letting go of the uniqueness of Jesus and the necessity of believing in him as the only way of salvation seems to call Christianity itself into question. Can one let go of any or all of this and still be Christians?
From the emerging paradigm’s point of view, the earlier paradigm seems anti-intellectual and rigidly (but selectively) moralistic. Its insistence on biblical literalism makes little sense, as does its rejection of science whenever it conflicts with literalism.
Advocates of the emerging paradigm are particularly perplexed and often impatient with earlier paradigm’s subordination of women, its negative attitude toward gays and lesbians, and its preoccupation with conservative political issues rather than issues of justice. It seems to emphasize personal righteousness more that compassion and justice. And its exclusivism, its rejection of other religions, as inadequate or worse, is unacceptable. How can it be that God is known in only one religion – and then perhaps only in the “right” form of that religion?
Are we willing to have an open mind or will we keep the party line? In Left, Right & Christ, authors D.C Innes and Lisa Sharon Harper craft thought-provoking chapters on the issues that will have America talking for years to come.
Two evangelical Christian thinkers from opposite ends of the political spectrum come together for a thought-provoking dialogue on the most polarizing issues of our day.
The co-authors of Left, Right & Christ wrestle with how people of the same faith can hold such drastically different political views.
From the rhetoric used by both conservative and progressive Christians, one wouldn't know they shared a common faith. Now, two evangelical Christian thinkers (Lisa Sharon Harper & D.C. Innes) from opposite ends of the political spectrum come together for a thought-provoking dialogue on polarizing issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage in the new book Left, Right & Christ: Evangelical Faith in Politics (Russell Media, $22.99, October 6, 2011).

to wipe out God’s enemies by killing them;
we are to wipe them out by converting (loving) them. William Barclay – Introducing the Bible

First, the GOP came for Minority Voting Rights,
and I said, "I am not a minority, it does not affect me."
Then, the GOP came for Women's Reproductive Rights,
and I said, "I am not a woman, it does not affect me."
Then, the GOP came for Gay and Lesbian Equal Rights,
and I said, "I am neither gay nor lesbian,
it does not affect me."
Then, the GOP came for Muslims' First Amendment Rights, and I said, "I am not a Muslim, it does not affect me."
Then, the GOP came for Welfare, Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security and I said,
"I am not poor, it does not affect me."
And then the GOP came for my rights, and there was no one left who had the right to stop them."
As I've said many times, I hate offending my longtime friends who still consider themselves republicans. My point to you is, while you were busy, you didn't notice the neocons and rightwingnut fanatics have hijacked your party.
Do you REALLY want to go back to the days of back alley abortions?
Do you really think we don't need the Voting Rights Act?
Do you really believe that in order to protect the 2nd Amendment we must allow criminals and crazies to buy assault weapons on the Internet with no background check?
Do you actually believe Obama was born in Kenya?
Or that any Hispanic should be stopped at random and forced to prove citizenship status?
Do you truly believe cutting taxes on the rich will improve the economy?
Or that every single food stamp recipient is a welfare cheat?
If so, my God, what happened to you?
You need psychiatric treatment for your fanaticism, which is a form of OCD.- John Rainone
"This country does in fact have a serious deficit problem.
But the reality is that the deficit was caused by two wars -- unpaid for.
It was caused by huge tax breaks for the wealthiest people in the country.
It was caused by a recession as result of the greed, recklessness, and illegal behavior on Wall Street.
And if those are the causes of the deficit,
I will be damned if we're going to balance the budget on the backs of the elderly, the sick, the children, and the poor. That's wrong." Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT),
Sendate Budget Committee, 11/18/2011
We need to stop the dialog that Republicans & Democrats are enemies! We are not “Red & Blue.” We are not “black & white.”
We are Americans! And when we are united in common cause – we are unstopppable… Divided we “Fall/Fail!”
Love for Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Reconciliation… What are the Answers?
From the director of BRUCE ALMIGHTY, THE NUTTY PROFESSOR
and ACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE comes something completely different!
I AM is an utterly engaging and entertaining non-fiction film that poses two practical and provocative questions: what’s wrong with our world, and what can we do to make it better? The filmmaker behind the inquiry is Tom Shadyac, one of Hollywood’s leading comedy practitioners and the creative force behind such blockbusters as “Ace Ventura,” “Liar Liar,” “The Nutty Professor,” and “Bruce Almighty.” However, in I AM, Shadyac steps in front of the camera to recount what happened to him after a cycling accident left him incapacitated, possibly for good. Though he ultimately recovered, he emerged with a new sense of purpose, determined to share his own awakening to his prior life of excess and greed, and to investigate how he as an individual, and we as a race, could improve the way we live and walk in the world.
“The Christian Left” -- left hate behind; left prejudice; left callous attitudes; and followed Jesus as HE left the 99 in the fold, to go find the ones who were lost, ignored, excluded, overlooked, abandoned, uncared-for -- all “the least of these.” We left hard-heartedness in order to be like the Samaritan who stopped to care for those in need.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows in their distress
and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.
If one of you says to him,
“Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,”
but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?
What We’re All About:
We’re not about Dogma here. We’re just Christians who think the political and Christian right-wing have their priorities wrong.
The Christian left is a term originating in the United States, used to describe a spectrum of left-wing Christian political and social movements which largely embraces social justice. Left Right Christ on Facebook
