Stage by Stage Relaxation

When we first start our Yoga Journey's Workout with Osten Aune we begin with a Yoga Self-Massage where we carefully listen to our bodies. What are our muscles and joints telling us? Were our muscles reminding us of pain? Or of an injury? If so, we plan at the beginning of the workout to modify postures as needed to avoid pain. And if needed, we also give ourselves permission to AVOID a posture. We promise ourselves to stay within our “Range of Motion!” We will NOT let our Egos talk us into Pain and Injury!

But in Stage by Stage Relaxation, this is where our Muscles LISTEN to us! Our muscles want to Obey; to comply with our command to RELAX!

Hatha Yoga is about breath control, stretching our spine, stretching our muscles and joints, stretching our bodies and minds – Preparing our bodies and minds for “Deep Relaxation and Meditation.”

In Stage by Stage Relaxation we focus on individual parts of the body; our Core and extremities; feet/ankles/toes, calves, knees, thighs, lower back, abdomen, chest, arms/wrist/fingers, shoulder, neck up to our jaw, eyes, brow, and scalp.

We even concentrate and focus our breath and breathe to a painful muscle/joint with our mind and incredibly it may bring relief to the afflicted muscle/joint!

We influence our mind through our muscles. We individually give our muscles permission to Rest, Relax, and Soften. We visualize our body tension and stress melting away, radiating away, and purged from our bodies. We imagine ourselves Stronger, Healthier, Happier.
